ANNALEE STRASBURGBorn in Brazil and now painting in the heart of the Midwest, Annalee Strasburg draws inspiration from every landscape she’s known— from the lush tropics of her childhood home, to California’s rugged coast, and now the rolling plains that she calls home today. A self-taught painter, Annalee balanced raising a family and a successful career with weekend watercolor and oil workshops—her “islands of peace” amid life’s demands. Since retiring, she’s devoted herself fully to her art, exhibiting at venues such as the Al Larson Prairie Center for the Arts, the Prospect Heights and Schaumburg Public Libraries, and the Arlington Heights Historical Museum. Her work also graces the Kensington Pedestrian Underpass mural in Arlington Heights. Through her rich, light-filled landscapes, Annalee strives to capture nature’s drama and color, inviting viewers to pause, feel, and rediscover the joy and wonder of the world around them.
